About

Why this Website?

This Portal was born at the service of the Parade and the cultural heritage of Potenza. It has been developed and is curated by passionate citizens. The portal aims to fill an informative gap, trying to spread and explain the deep meaning of the Parade, its historical origins who are lost over the centuries, the role of the individual components, the structure, the figures, what is staged in specific moments.

We want the Parade as an heritage for everyone, which must be understood and preserved, by any citizen of Potenza or from the world. Those who attend the Parade for the first time must also be guided, so that the event should not remain as a pure show of folklore, but should transmit emotions and suggestions, carrying out profound religious, cultural, identity and traditional meanings of Potentine people and of Potenza.
